Get Involved
This is your movement to join.
We do not wait for someone else to fix it. We show up, we learn, we carry Narcan, we sit with people, and we build something real together. There is a place for you here.
People in our community are counting on us.
Overdose is preventable. Stigma is not inevitable. Recovery is possible, but only when there are enough people willing to show up.
That is what Checkpoint Initiative is built on: neighbors looking out for neighbors. We exist to build community safety systems through overdose prevention, Narcan access points, peer support, recovery support, community education, and resource navigation. We are not a corporation with a volunteer program. We are a grassroots nonprofit building from the ground up, and we need you.
Where volunteers may show up
Checkpoint volunteers may have opportunities to support local outreach, access point setup, benefit events, overdose prevention education, community trainings, public awareness efforts, and regional learning opportunities.
Local outreach and access point setup
Benefit events and community gatherings
Overdose prevention education and Narcan trainings
Public awareness efforts and campaigns
Partner events and collaborative outreach
Remote support from anywhere
As Checkpoint grows, volunteers may also have the chance to attend or support events across Arkansas and beyond, including overdose prevention summits, harm reduction trainings, community safety events, recovery-focused gatherings, and partner opportunities in places like Arkansas, Texas, Florida, Montana, and other regions where this work is moving forward.
Some roles are local. Some are remote. Some may grow into travel, leadership, training, or program development opportunities over time.
Built in the community
Checkpoint is growing through real conversations, local events, access points, trainings, volunteers, and people willing to show up before a crisis happens.
Every table, every stocked supply point, every training, and every conversation helps strengthen the safety network around us.
Supplies that meet people where they are
Resource kits, QR tools, and prevention supplies help make support easier to find before a crisis happens.
Learning from the frontlines
Volunteers may have opportunities to learn from prevention leaders, public health partners, and community safety professionals.
Training and regional connection
As Checkpoint grows, education and regional learning opportunities can help volunteers bring stronger tools back home.
Showing up locally
Community events create space for outreach, resource sharing, family connection, and practical prevention work.
From local outreach and access point setup to prevention conferences and community events, Checkpoint volunteers help build the safety network one step at a time.
